FBR Open/Birdies for Charity

Date: January 28, 2008-February 3, 2008

Time: TBD

Location: TPC Scottsdale

Get ready to tee up and support Special Olympics Arizona!  For the 4th year, SOAZ is participating in the Birdies for Charity fundraising opportunity offered by Thunderbirds Charities and the

FBR Open.   It centers on the PGA TOUR event set for February 2007 at the TPC Scottsdale.

It doesn’t matter if you are a golfer or have never played the game. What does matter is helping a local worthy cause and the opportunity to be rewarded for that gesture.

You can become eligible for great prizes simply by pledging at least one cent for every birdie made by the PGA TOUR players at the FBR Open. In recent years at the FBR Open, the PGA professionals have averaged 1500 birdies during tournament play. That means that if you pledged one penny for every birdie, your pledge would amount to $15.00.

Please click on the 2008 Birdies for Charity pledge form below to register.

Law enforcement officers, rival sports teams, schools, corporations and Special Olympics Arizona athletes, families, friends and fans will join together at Sunsplash Waterpark in Mesa to make the daring plunge into the freezing cold water, all to support SOAZ!  If you're brave enough to make the plunge, register and ask all of your friends and family to support you!

Plungers are encouraged to wear their wackiest costume to the event.  Gather up your friends and come up with creative team ideas.  Challenge a rival school or company to plunge against you.  Plungers will be assigned a time to submerge themselves into the iced down water and display their bravery.  SOAZ encourages Polar Plungers to ask their family and friends to pledge their support to you in your Plunge for the Special Olympics Arizona athletes.  All donations made are 100% tax deductible.

You can sign up as an individual or a team!  The more you raise, the more you win! There are great prizes available for individuals and teams who raise the most money and who plunge in the best costumes. Bring your friends and family out to the event to join the fun!
