Special Olympics Arizona Youth Activation Summit

Special Olympics Arizona Youth Activation Summit

On April 30th and May 1st, 2010 Special Olympics Arizona will host Arizona's first Youth Activation Summit during the Special Olympics Arizona Summer Games at Mesa Community College.   This interactive, youth-led event will include information on:
 
 
 
·         Youth Activation in the community – how to make a difference in your school
·         Unified Sports® programs – play on sports teams alongside SOAZ athletes
·         Involvement in Special Olympics Arizona – connect beyond the competitions
·         Summer Games competitions – see the SOAZ athletes in action
·         Opening Ceremonies – this is where the party starts
 
Your high school is invited to send up to five people to the Youth Activation Summit:
·         One or two student leaders
·         One or two Life Skills or SPED student with intellectual disabilities (does not have to be a current Special Olympics athlete)
·         One Teacher or Advisor
 
There is no cost to attend the Youth Activation Summit and dinner will be provided on Friday evening.  The Summit starts at 2:30 on Friday, April 30th and continues through Opening Ceremonies until 9:00 pm.  Saturday we will meet from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
